MSI CR720 17-inch Notebook

MSI has announced a new addition to its notebook range by unveiling the CR720. Powered by an all-new 2010 Intel Core processor (Core i3/i5/i7), the CR720 is packed with a 17.3-inch 1600 x 900 HD+ LCD display, an Intel GMA HD graphics card, up to 4GB DDR3 RAM, up to 500GB hard drive, a 1.3MP webcam, a 4-in-1 card reader, WiFi, Bluetooth, an HDMI port, a 6-cell battery and Windows 7 Home Premium OS. Sadly, there’s no word on pricing yet.

MSI CX420 and CR420 Notebook PCs

MSI has made an announcement that will release two new notebooks in the following weeks: the CX420, CR420, and CR720.

In terms of screen size, the CX420 and CR420 have a 14-inch display, while the CR720 has a 17.3-inch screen. All of them feature the 2010 Intel Core i Series, and can have up to 4GB of DDR3 memory. One of the differences is the video card: the CX420 has an ATI RAdeon HD5470 with 1GB, while the CR420 has a less-powerful Intel GMA HD, and the CR720 also has a GMA HD graphics.

At this moment there is no information about the price or release date.

Lenovo IdeaPad G460 and G560 Notebooks

Lenovo adds to its IdeaPad line the new G460 and G560 notebook PCs, alongside the Y560 and Y460. These new IdeaPads are boosted by new Intel Core processor with Intel Turbo Boost technology, integrated HD graphics and up to 8GB of DDR3 memory.

The IdeaPad G460 has a 14-inch LED-backlit display while the G560 gets a 15.6-inch screen. They have up to 500GB hard drive storage. They start at $699.99.

Lenovo also announced the IdeaPad V360 13.3-inch and IdeaPad V460 14-inch notebooks for SOHO market. They feature Switchable Graphics and are powered by 2010 Intel Core processors. Both models start at $749.99.

MSI X-Slim X420 Lightweight Slim Notebook

MSI’s lightweight, slim X-Slim series gets a latest addition, the X420. The new 14-inch slim laptop is powered by Intel’s CULV Core 2 Duo SU7300/SU4100 processor and ATI’S Mobility Radeon HD 5430 with 1GB of video RAM. The X420 gets DDR3 RAM and up to 500GB hard drive.

MSI’s X-Slim X420 comes with a 14-inch 1366×768 LCD display, a 1.3 Megapixel webcam, a 2-in-1 card reader, eSATA/USB combo port, HDMI port and built-in speakers with SRS Premium Sound. WiF and Bluetooth are supported. The CULV notebook includes also 3D Boost Technology and ECO Engine technology that allows the X420 of provide up to 9 hours of battery life.

GammaTech DuraBook D14 E-Series Rugged Notebooks

GammaTech announced its latest rugged notebook PCs, the DuraBook D14 E-Series, which is the first rugged notebook to have 1TB hard drive space. Powered by Intel’s Core 2 Duo 2GHz processor, the D14 E-Series has up to 8GB of memory and integrated graphics. It is equipped with two 500GB hard drives with RAID controller.

Three models are available: the D14E0 with RAID 0 setup to provide 1TB space as a single drive; the D14E1 in RAID-1 that eliminates data loss concerns by providing real time data backup and synchronization; and the D14E2 with two separate 500GB hard disk drives.

GammaTech’s DuraBook D14 E-Series meets the Military 810F standard offering protection against drop, shock, spill and dust and is protected by a magnesium alloy case. The laptop comes with also a spill resistant keyboard and anti-shock material.

Freescale Smartbook Tablet Design

Freescale presents its reference design of Smartbook tablet featuring a 7-inch touchscreen. The tablet is powered by Freescale’s highly integrated i.MX515 processor incorporating ARM Cortex-A8 core, OpenVG and OpenGL/ES graphics cores and HD video decoder. It has 512MB of RAM and up to 64GB of internal storage.

Freescale’s smartbook tablet gets a 7-inch 1024×600 touchscreen and supports GPS, Bluetooth and WiFi 802.11b/g/n. There is an integrated 3 Megapixel camera, speaker, microphone and microSD card slot. 3G modem and RF4CE protocol options are available. Those who need a keyboard can get the optional keyboard accessory. The tablet supports Android and Linux OS.

Viliv N5 MID and S10 Blade Tablet PC Official

Viliv officially announced two new compact netbook/MID/UMPC, the N5 Go-Everywhere PC and the S10 Blade multitouch tablet PC. Both devices are based on Atom processor and can be equipped with support for HSPA, TD-SCDMA, EVDO, WiMAX 4G connectivity.

The Viliv N5 is a compact netbook with a 4.8-inch 1024×600 touchscreen and QWERTY keyboard. It sports an Intel Atom Z520 1.33GHz processor, 1GB of RAM and 32GB SSD for storage. It gets integrated GPS navigation, a 1.3 Megapixel webcam and a microSD card slot.

Viliv’s S10 Blade, on the other hand, is a netbook tablet with a 10.1-inch swivel LCD display with 1366×768 resolution and multitouch. It is equipped with Atom Z530 1.6GHz or Z550 2GHz processor, 1GB of memory and up to 128GB SSD. The Blade has QWERTY keyboard as well. The battery allows up to 10 hours of use.

Alienware M11x Gaming Notebook

Dell’s Alienware introduces the M11x Gaming Notebook PC which offers the graphic power of a 15-inch laptop in an 11-inch form factor. It packs an Intel Core 2 Duo U7300 CULV processor and NVIDIA Geforce GT335M switchable graphics card, VGA, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs. The Alienware M11x boast a 11.6-inch LCD display and offers 6.5 hours of battery mode in its lower-graphics mode and up to two hours intense gaming.

It will be release later this year for less than $1000.

Lenovo Skylight ARM SnapDragon-powered Smartbook

Lenovo introduces the Skylight, the first smartbook based on Qualcomm SnapDragon chipset platform. The sleek, slim Skylight is boosted by the 1GHz SnapDragon processor and has 20GB flash storag and 2GB cloud storage. It has a 10-inch 1280×720 display and full-size keyboard.

The Lenovo Skylight supports both WiFi and 3G connectivity and will connect with AT&T’s 3G mobile network. It has a 8GB miniSD card slot, two USB ports and a 1.3 Megapixel camera and its battery allows up to 10 hours of use. The smartbook runs Lenovo’s customized Skylight Linux UI, like the U1 Hybrid.

The Lenovo skylight is available from April in the U.S. for $ 499 will be released in China and Europe on the market later this year.

Lenovo IdeaPad U1 Hybrid Notebook

Apart from launching the Skylight Smartbook, Lenovo also made a statement at the CES when they rolled out the Lenovo IdeaPad U1 Hybrid Notebook. The IdeaPad U1 Notebook features a unique, all new PC form factor, there is a 11.6-inch LED multitouch display which can be removed and used as an independent slate tablet.

The clamshell device basically combines a Tablet and a Notebook into one with each device having its own processor. The Notebook boast an Intel Core 2 Duo CULV processor with Windows 7 while the tablet slate is powered by a Qualcomm SnapDragon processor and runs Lenovo’s customized Skylight Linux OS. Other specs includes a integrated webcam, 3G connectivity, WiFi and Bluetooth.

The Lenovo IdeaPad U1 Hybrid will be available on 1 June 2010 for $999.1. It has a fashionable scarlet red exterior.
