MSI X-Slim X420 Lightweight Slim Notebook

MSI’s lightweight, slim X-Slim series gets a latest addition, the X420. The new 14-inch slim laptop is powered by Intel’s CULV Core 2 Duo SU7300/SU4100 processor and ATI’S Mobility Radeon HD 5430 with 1GB of video RAM. The X420 gets DDR3 RAM and up to 500GB hard drive.

MSI’s X-Slim X420 comes with a 14-inch 1366×768 LCD display, a 1.3 Megapixel webcam, a 2-in-1 card reader, eSATA/USB combo port, HDMI port and built-in speakers with SRS Premium Sound. WiF and Bluetooth are supported. The CULV notebook includes also 3D Boost Technology and ECO Engine technology that allows the X420 of provide up to 9 hours of battery life.

Alienware M11x Gaming Notebook

Dell’s Alienware introduces the M11x Gaming Notebook PC which offers the graphic power of a 15-inch laptop in an 11-inch form factor. It packs an Intel Core 2 Duo U7300 CULV processor and NVIDIA Geforce GT335M switchable graphics card, VGA, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs. The Alienware M11x boast a 11.6-inch LCD display and offers 6.5 hours of battery mode in its lower-graphics mode and up to two hours intense gaming.

It will be release later this year for less than $1000.

Lenovo IdeaPad U1 Hybrid Notebook

Apart from launching the Skylight Smartbook, Lenovo also made a statement at the CES when they rolled out the Lenovo IdeaPad U1 Hybrid Notebook. The IdeaPad U1 Notebook features a unique, all new PC form factor, there is a 11.6-inch LED multitouch display which can be removed and used as an independent slate tablet.

The clamshell device basically combines a Tablet and a Notebook into one with each device having its own processor. The Notebook boast an Intel Core 2 Duo CULV processor with Windows 7 while the tablet slate is powered by a Qualcomm SnapDragon processor and runs Lenovo’s customized Skylight Linux OS. Other specs includes a integrated webcam, 3G connectivity, WiFi and Bluetooth.

The Lenovo IdeaPad U1 Hybrid will be available on 1 June 2010 for $999.1. It has a fashionable scarlet red exterior.

Lenovo ThinkPad Edge Notebook

In addition to the 11.6-inch ThinkPad X100e, Lenovo also introduces the ThinkPad Edge notebook series “designed to push ThinkPad design and innovation to the edge”. Available in 13-inch, 14-inch and 15-inch models, the Edge is made specifically for small to medium sized business (SMB) customers.

The ThinkPad Edge is powered by choices of AMD Turion and Athlon Neo dual core processors or Intel Core 2 Duo ultra low voltage and standard dual core processors. It features streamlined keyboard layout with “legendary ThinkPad keyboard feel”, multitouch touchpad and ThinkPad Trackpoint. Select models of the ThinkPad Edge 14-inch and 15 inch versions will come with illuminated keyboards.

Lenovo’s Edge supports not only Blutooth and WiFi but also 3G and WiMAX connectivity. It offers up to 8 hours of battery life. It comes in Midnight Black and Heatwave Red in either gloss or soft finishes. The Lenovo ThinkPad Edge 13-inch model will be released on 5 January starting at $549.

MSI X-Slim X600 Pro Ultra Slim Notebook

MSI has added another ultra thin notebook to their X-Slim range with the launch of the MSI X-Slim X600 Pro Notebook.

The MSI X-Slim X600 Pro features an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 4GB of DDR2 RAM, an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 512MB graphics card and a choice of either a 250GB, 320GB, 500GB or 640GB SATA hard drive.

Other specifications include a 1.3 megapixel web camera, a 2 in 1 card reader, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, optional Bluetooth, 10/100/1000 LAN, one eSATA port and two USB 2.0 ports.

The MSI X-Slim X600 Pro Notebook features a Blu-Ray drive, HDMI, and a 15 inch LCD display, and it comes with Windows 7.

There are no details as yet on pricing or release date, although MSI are expected to release these details at CES in January 2010.

Asus Launched UX30 Ultra Slim Notebook In Japan

Asus Japan releases the UX30 ultra slim notebook based on CULV processor. The UX30 is just 19.6mm thick and weighs 1.4kg. It sports an Intel Core 2 Duo SU9400 processor, 3GB of RAM, onboard graphics and a 320GB hard drive.

Asus UX30 has a 13.3-inch 1366×768 LCD display with LED backlight. There is a 1.3 Megapixel camera, a multi-in-one card reader, VGA output, and HDMI output. Connectivity include Ethernet, WiFi 802.11b/g/n and luetooth. It is priced at 99,800 Yen.
