Motorola Devour - Verizon’s First Android Phone With Motoblur

Verizon ireless announced the Motorola Devour (aka Calgary A555), the latest addition to the cellphone maker’s MOTOBLUR lineup. The Devour is first Verizon phone to include the MOTOBLUR. It is a mid-range Android phone with a 3.1-inch capacitive touchscreen, a side-slide QWERTY keyboard and a touch-sensitive navigation pad.

The Devour features a 3 Megapixel camera, dual microphone for noise cancellation, integrated AGPS support, and support for Bluetooth and WiFi 802.11b/g. It runs Android 1.6 OS and is pre-loaded with Google apps. It supports Verizon’s dual-band CDMA EVDO Rev A 3G network.

The Motorola Devour will be available in March. Other MOTOBLUR phones include the Backflip, the MOTOROI and the CLIQ/DEXT.

Motorola Backflip with MOTOBLUR Android Phone

Motorola has launched a second Motoblur Android powered handset on Wednesday at CES in Las Vegas and with it a new control mechanism for navigating around the screen.

Where the phone differs from the average touchscreen device is a second touchscreen panel behind the screen that means you can navigate around the screen without your fingers getting in the way.

The second screen, which works like a trackpad on a laptop, is revealed only when you backflip the QWERTY keyboard into place.

Tech specs include a 528 MHz Qualcomm MSM7201A processor, 512MB ROM, 256MB RAM, a 3.1-inch display with 320 x 480 (HVGA) resolution, 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, GPS and OS Android 1.5 with Motoblur.

The phone, which is expected out shortly, is likely to make it to the UK Motorola has confirmed.

Motorola XT701, MT710 and XT800 Phones

Motorola is planning three Android smartphones for China market, one for each of the three carriers in China. All these phones supports 3G network and runs the Android OS.

First of all, the MT710 is a OPhone device for China Mobile. Obviously it supports world’s biggest carrier’s TD-SCDMA 3G network. It runs the Android-based OPhone platform. The MT710 features a 0.3 Megapixel front camera for video call and integrated CMMB mobile TV tuner.

The Motorola XT701, which is also called the Sholes Tablet, is for China Unicom. It works on WCDMA/HSPA networks. The XT701 is boosted by a Cortex A8 processor, like the Droid/Milestone.

Lastly, the Motorola XT800 (aka Zeppelin) is a device that looks like Dell’s Mini 3i. It is designed for China Telecom and supports dual-mode GSM and EV-DO network.

All three Android devices feature 3.7-inch 854×480 touchscreen, a 5 Megpaixel camera with flash, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS support and microSD/SDHC card slot.

Motorola Milestone Launched in Hong Kong for US$602

After European market, Motorola launches its Milestone smartphone in Hong Kong, the first in Asia region to get the Android 2.0 device. The version Motorola sells in Hong Kong is English version with MOTO Chinese input methods (but no Chinese UI), including Chinese handwriting recognition and Pinyin.

According MOTO’s product manager, the cellphone maker will release later in Hong Kong a Chinese version with native Chinese UI and more Chinese input methods. The Chinese version may be released with Android 2.1 OS, and current devices will receive updates.

The Motorola Milestone is selling in Hong Kong at HK$4680 (US$602), unlocked and no contract needed.

Motorola MT710 OPhone for China Mobile

Motorola officially introduced in China its MOTO MT710, which is the company’s first smartphone for China Mobile. The MT710, a Droid/Milestone-like device, runs China Mobile’s Android-based OPhone platform and supports TD-SCDMA 3G network and quad-band GSM/EDGE networks.

MOTO MT710 is boosted by a Marvell PXA310 processor. It has a touchscreen, a 5 Megapixel camera, a front camera and support for WiFi.

Motorola MT710 OPhone for China Mobile

Motorola has a hot phone for Chinese customers too. The MT710 is a handset meant to deal with China Mobile’s Android-based Open Mobile Systen. This OPhone will offer a 3.7-inch 854 x 480 touchscreen display and TD-SDCDMA support and that’s about all we know about this Motorola OPhone. It looks like the MT710 is the Chinese version of the Droid and people say it’s going to lack keyboard support. They also say that Motorola will launch seven Android phones next year which means that the Droid-like MT710 is just the first one of them.

Motorola Milestone Android Phone

Just when we thought that the mobile manufacturers had their offer set up for the Christmas shopping madness, Motorola some with Milestone Android mobile phone official. The phone has officially been launched in the Western Europe market and it is the GSM/UMTS version of the Motorola DROID. But the great thing is that, compared to DROID, it has more features. Among those added features there is the support for multitouch control. Milestone does not have Google Maps Navigation beta application, Google Latitude, Google Maps, Google Search by Voice, but it has the MOTONAV trail version. Just like, the DROID, Milestone has a 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen, a 5 Megapixel camera, QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth, WiFi, 3.5mm jack and a microSD card slot. The Milestone runs Android 2.0 OS.
